Explaining the Different Appointments Types at FTJCo

Want to come by FTJCo, but not sure which appointment type is right for you? Let us break it down for you!

Engagement or Custom Ring Consultation (45 min)

• You are in the early stages of selecting an engagement ring, or custom ring.
• This appointment will cover ring sizing, materials (gems, gold &/or platinum), and style.
• If you need a follow-up after your initial Engagement Ring Consultation, your Sales Person can book you an Express Appointment (i.e. to review additional gems).
• This appointment is appropriate whether you plan to shop from our Ready to Wear inventory, or have a new piece Made to Order.
• Note that if you are shopping for more than one engagement or custom ring, you will need two appointment slots.

Wedding Rings Consultation (45 min)

• You are in the early stages of selecting your wedding band(s).
• This appointment will cover ring size(s), materials (gems, gold &/or platinum), and style(s).
• This appointment is appropriate whether you plan to shop from our Ready to Wear inventory, or have new rings Made to Order.
• This appointment type can accommodate wedding bands for two people.

Jewellery & Gifts (50 min)

• You are looking for a jewellery gift or non-ring piece of jewellery for yourself.
• At this appointment you can view and try on items in our Ready to Wear collection, or explore having a new piece Made to Order.
• You can expect to cover design concept and materials (gems, gold &/or platinum).

Custom Appointment with Senior Designer/Goldsmith (1 hour)

• You want to make a custom ring or other jewellery item, starting from an original concept or blank slate, and you desire design input from an FTJCo Designer.
• The FTJCo Designer can advise you on what's possible, while providing guidance and expertise to enhance the beauty and structural integrity of your design.
• This appointment will cover design concept, materials, and sizing.
  
• If you want to modify an existing FTJCo style, our regular Engagement Ring, Wedding Ring, or Jewellery appointment is for you!

Remake Appointment (45 min)

• You have existing jewellery and/or gems that you would like to repurpose into something new. 
• Your items will be inspected by our Sales Team, and gems will be assessed by our Gemsetter (she is on-site Monday through Friday; if your appointment is on a weekend, your gems can be left with us and assessed on the next weekday). If your gems are in good shape, they'll be approved for use in a new piece.
• Note that we do not melt down your old gold, but we can collect it for scrap refining and credit the value of your gold towards a new piece.

Repairs Appointment 

• You have a broken piece of jewellery, or a ring that needs to be resized.
• In this appointment your item will be assessed, and you'll be quoted a price for repair work if applicable.
• Note that we do not change watch batteries, or repair costume jewellery.

Picking Up Your Finished Piece 

• When your item is ready for pick-up you can use this form to tell us when you want to come by, and we'll have it packaged and ready for you!

In most instances, you'll come away from your FTJCo appointment with an estimate for the work quoted, and you can decide on your own time whether or not you'd like to proceed.
