2026 B Corp Month Repairs & Remakes Fundraiser

March is B Corp Month! To celebrate, we're continuing our Repairs & Remakes fundraising event—an annual tradition.

"B Corps are mission-driven companies that balance purpose and profit."            bcorporation.net

How does it work? When you book a Jewellery Repairs or Jewellery Remake appointment in the month of March, we'll donate 20% of the pre-tax proceeds towards this year’s chosen fundraiser. Our goal is to incentivize you to bring in your old and broken jewellery to have it fixed up or transformed into something new! This ties into B Corp month by encouraging our clients and community to repair and reuse the jewellery and gems they already own, instead of trashing them and buying new.

Which organization are we supporting? This year, in honour of International Women's Day on March 8th, we're donating to YWCA Toronto. FTJCo has a longstanding relationship with YWCA Toronto, as we proudly make the recipient pins for the YWCA Toronto Distinction Awards. 🏆

YWCA Toronto helps women, girls, and gender diverse people flee violence, secure housing, find jobs, establish their voices, enhance skills, and develop confidence. They offer a range of housing options, employment and training programs, community support programs, girls' programs and family programs; they also engage in systemic advocacy. - ywcatoronto.org

YWCA Toronto’s 2024 Annual Report:

👏 4,157 women and gender diverse participants developed career-ready skills in Employment and Training programs

👏 683 women and gender diverse people built sustainable futures through Skills Development Centre

👏 164 mothers, gender diverse parents and their children found a space to heal through Here to Help and Adventures in Sharing

👏 566 girls and gender diverse youth attended Camp Tapawingo in 2024

Why repairs and remakes? We’ve chosen to highlight repairs and remakes for two key reasons. First, they are accessible! Repairing your existing jewellery doesn’t require a big investment; most people have some old jewellery lying around that doesn’t get worn because it’s broken, the wrong size, or no longer reflects your preferred style. We hope this event will serve as the gentle nudge you need to bring these pieces in to freshen them up and make them wearable again.

The second reason we’re featuring repairs and remakes is that rather than creating a piece of jewellery from scratch, repairing and restoring something old carries a more environmentally-friendly benefit. Repairing or reworking your existing jewellery requires a much smaller environmental footprint, and generates less waste. It’s a win-win.

Business as a force for good. In 2020 and 2021 we donated over $34,000 to food banks and similar causes chosen by our clients in support of our community during the COVID-19 crisis. In 2024, we raised over $1,100 for the Cabbagetown Cares campaign in support of Dixon Hall, last year we raised $1,270 for Alpha House. 2025 was a banner year for FTJCo so we donated $16,000 to Doctors Without Boarders. This year let's see how much money we can raise for YWCA Toronto!
