"With a fixed quality, Taurus is the most grounded of earth signs, sinking the deepest into its soil. The strength of the bull has long been revered in world cultures. For example, a sacred bull is a mainstay of Egypt mythology, where the Apis or Hapis bull was considered a manifestation of the creator god, responsible for the yearly flooding of the Nile, which brought new life. Similarly, the Ganges was envisioned to flow through the hair of the god Shiva, and the annual flooding of the Tigris in Mesopotamia was credited to a bull-god's copulation with a mother goddess cow. Bulls bring a lust for life, symbolically or literally impregnating creatures to bring forth new existence. There are comparable stories in Greek mythology of bulls - the Greek word taûros means bull-that encapsulate many of the qualities associated with the sign of Taurus: loyalty, strength, and power, as well as simultaneously embodying the importance of kindness and consistency. These latter qualities can calm the bull's wild tendencies. Bulls can be stubborn and dangerous—immovable even—but under the right influence (such as Pasiphae's), they can be steadfast, gentle, and methodical builders of prosperity. With a Venus rulership, the bull's virility can also be a powerful influence in the arts since it shows a propensity toward beauty. Like all earth signs, there's a love of sensual pleasures that can, if left unchecked, veer toward materialism or vanity." - From Taschen's The Library of Esoterica: Astrology

We love being able to give another life to vintage jewellery pieces. Some items require just a little love from our workshop before they’re ready for their next owner, while in other cases only the gems or diamonds can be used. These special gems are available in our Vintage Gem Collection, and are ready to be set in to a new piece of jewellery.

Please keep in mind that some of these vintage and antique items cannot be replaced–either because similar gems or diamonds can no longer be sourced or because the method of manufacture is no longer in use. We strongly recommend that you insure this item with Jewelers Mutual so that in the event of loss, the policy can cover a portion of the cost to remake or credit towards a different item.
