At the Fair Trade Jewellery Company we’d rather generate light than consume it. We want to bring more love into the world and we hope to accomplish this by creating beautiful, ethically mined jewellery that celebrates love in all its forms’. It’s probably fair to say that one of the animating principles of the FTJCo is that of collaboration–creating a partnership with our environment, the miners and the people who buy our rings and jewellery.

We were the first Fairtrade certified jeweler in North America– something we’re very proud of– and we simply refuse to buy material from any source that profits from mining conflicts, exploits their workers or is negligent in the maintenance of our environment. We don’t have to, and neither do you. We want to make sure we get this right, from the very first step that’s taken on this journey to the very last.

And we want you to be a participant in all of this and not a spectator, because it’s an expression of your love, not ours. When you choose to give somebody a piece of jewellery what you’re really trying to do is give a part of yourself, making something internal, alive to the touch, and we’re truly honoured to help you do this.
